Pottery classes offered for teens and adults

Beginning Pottery on the Wheel is offered Monday, Sept. 22-Nov. 10, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Instructor Dick Morse has been a full-time potter since completing his elementary school teaching career in 2002.
Beginning/Intermediate Pottery on the Wheel is offered Wednesday, Sept. 24-Nov. 12, 10 a.m.-noon. Instructor Marjorie Wade has taught pottery classes at The Phipps for the past seven years as well as in local schools and from her home studio.
Intermediate/Advanced Pottery on the Wheel is offered Thursday, Sept. 25-Nov. 13, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Instructor Betsy Smith is a graduate of UW-River Falls.
Students enrolled in pottery classes have access to the pottery studio on Fridays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. No instruction is given. Students should bring an old hand-towel and a basic tool kit to each class. Tool kits are available for purchase on the first day of class for $15.
Registration
The fee for each class is $207, which includes one 25-pound bag of clay, glazes and firing. Additional clay may be purchased from the instructor for $15 per bag.
