Letter: Critical of Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin is a radical right-wing fundamentalist Christian who wants to create a theocracy. She believes we are living in the “end times” from which only true Christians will be saved. As governor, she asked her congregation to pray for the natural gas pipeline, which she characterized as “God’s will.” She thinks the war in Iraq is a “task that is from God.” Hmmm, sound familiar?

Dear Editor,

Sarah Palin is a radical right-wing fundamentalist Christian who wants to create a theocracy. She believes we are living in the “end times” from which only true Christians will be saved. As governor, she asked her congregation to pray for the natural gas pipeline, which she characterized as “God’s will.” She thinks the war in Iraq is a “task that is from God.” Hmmm, sound familiar? Does GW ring a bell? Change? Yeah, right!

She wants to deny a woman victimized by rape or incest the right to choose abortion and then criminally punish both the woman for having one and her doctor for performing it. In her administration, a rape victim is responsible for paying the $400 cost of the “rape kit” investigation.

In her interview with Charlie Gibson last week, she claimed to have foreign policy experience because as governor of Alaska she has been in charge of that state’s National Guard and because Alaska is “right next” to Russia. She said she had insights into U.S. relations with Russia because “they’re our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska … from an island in Alaska.”

Maybe she actually saw Putin from there, looked into his eyes and saw into his soul?

She’s said the United States might have to go to war if Russia were to invade Georgia again. “And we’ve got to keep an eye on Russia. For Russia to have exerted such pressure in terms of invading a smaller democratic country, unprovoked, is unacceptable.”

Actually, Russia invaded Georgia after the ex-Soviet republic invaded the separatist region of South Ossetia. I know that I, for one, am certainly looking forward to another standoff with Russia.

She campaigned for the “Bridge to Nowhere,” though now she denies it.

She’s currently trying to block the investigation on whether or not she illegally had one of her underlings fired for not firing her former brother-in-law, a trooper who went through an ugly divorce with her sister.

These are all facts that are easily verified.

Yeah, vote Sarah for change.
