The board of directors of the St. Croix Valley Community Foundation held its annual meeting Sept. 9 and elected new officers.
Board Chair Gretchen M. Stein, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Sand Creek Group in Stillwater, Minn., passed the gavel to Dr. David J. Wettergren, former superintendent of Stillwater Area School District.
Other board officers were also elected.
At the same meeting, two board members of long standing, Karen Ciegler Hansen and Erv Neff of Stillwater, Minn., left the foundation board.
The St. Croix Valley Community Foundation was established in 1995 by a group of valley residents to provide a means for people who care about this region to be part of shaping its future.
The foundation has assets of approximately $16 million and is active in grantmaking in five counties that border the St. Croix River — three in Wisconsin and two in Minnesota.
Its outreach in the region includes the affiliates of the Hudson Community Fund, the River Falls Community Fund, the Dresser Community Fund, the Chisago Lakes Area Community Foundation and the Amery Community Foundation.
