O’Connell is new Caledonia postmaster

Former Hudsonite Dennis O’Connell, who now lives in LaCrescent, Minn., was recently sworn in as the post master at Caledonia, Minn.

O’Connell is a former Hudson council member and has been with the Postal Service for about 15 years, working in Hudson and River Falls.

He is the son of Hudsonites Judy and Mike O’Connell. The district manager of the Postal Service actually swore in Mike as a “very temporary” postal employee and Mike performed the swearing-in duties of Dennis as postmaster. As soon as Dennis took the oath, Mike’s postal duties were completed. Dennis and his wife, Dusty, have two adult daughters, Holly Beard of Hudson and Katie Peterson of Chanhassen, Minn.
