The Raider golf team last Thursday traveled to Mill Run in Eau Claire for regional play and came back with a team win and medalist honors.

Freshmen Jenny Fassbinder stepped up to the plate and played in the fifth spot for the Raiders, since her sister Molly didn’t participate due to an arm injury.

The girls posted these scores; Katie Ecker 75, Cassie Wurm 88, Elli Anderson 90, Kiki Buege 94 and Jenny Fassbinder 99.

The girls had the low score of the day with a 347, followed by Eau Claire Memorial with 365, River Falls with 366, Eau Claire North with 379, New Richmond with 386, Rice Lake with 388, Hayward with 420 and Superior with 421. Ecker recorded the low individual score of the match.

Placing first at the regional tournament guaranteed the girls a spot in the Hayward sectional, which was scheduled for Tuesday. Memorial, River Falls and Eau Claire North also travel to Hayward.

Making it out of the Tomah regional and also traveling to Hayward are Holmen, Onalaska, La Crosse Central-Logan and Stevens Point. The top two teams and top three individuals from Hayward advance to the Wisconsin state tournament in Madison Oct. 13-14.
