Hudson attorney Charles Harris recently opened a local office of Arthur, Chapman, Kettering, Smetak and Pikala, P.A.
Harris has been commuting to the Minneapolis headquarters for a year, but last month he and his longtime legal assistant, Linda Sittlow, opened the Hudson office at 619 Second St.
The firm was established in 1974 and today includes 40 attorneys offering a wide range of services.
Harris’ legal career actually started in Hudson when he clerked for Hugh Gwin and John Fetzner during law school. A graduate of William Mitchell College of Law, Harris was in practice with Hudson attorneys C.A. Richards and Bob Wall for 14 years until Richards became a judge. Insurance work is one of Harris’ specialty areas. He went on to work for Doar, Drill and Skow in the Baldwin office for 14 years. Most recently, Harris was in private practice with Estreen and Ogland.
After, leaving Doar, Drill and Skow, Harris was approached by Arthur, Chapman, Kettering, Smetak and Pikala, eventually merging his practice with theirs. He brings a wide breadth of experience to his new position with the firm, considered a medium-size law firm by metro standards.
Harris specializes in the areas of workers’ compensation, accidents, business and real estate litigation, and insurance.
The office is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment at other times. For more information, call (715) 386-9000.
