Letter: Democrats needed now

Dear Editor,

Election Day, Nov. 4, is a most important day for all of us because we can now put an end to our long national nightmare by casting intelligent votes.

This nightmare began in 1994 when the Republicans gained control of the U.S. Congress. Remember that they told us they had a Contract WITH America. We now know that this turned out to be a Contract ON America, this being especially true during the last seven-plus years under the Bush-Cheney incompetent and dishonest regime.

Minnesota and Wisconsin voters can do our part by making sure our electoral votes are cast for the Obama-Biden ticket. Minnesota voters can do themselves further proud by retiring Norm Coleman and Michele Bachmann forevermore.

We Wisconsin St. Croix County voters can also do ourselves proud by voting for Congressman Ron Kind and by voting to retire Sheila Harsdorf, Kitty Rhoades and John Murtha. The landscape and thinking in Madison will be greatly improved with the forced retirement of these three.

Whether we will admit it or not, it appears that we are close to being in, if not already there, the 2nd Great Republican Depression of the last 80 years. Let us hope that President Obama will have similar great wisdom of Franklin D. Roosevelt to bring us through this 2nd Depression.
