Marlin Victor Olson, 73, of St. Paul died Thursday, Oct. 30, at Bethel Care Center in St. Paul.

Marlin Victor Olson, 73, of St. Paul died Thursday, Oct. 30, at Bethel Care Center in St. Paul.

Marlin was born on Feb. 25, 1935, in Mountain Lake, Minn., the son of John Victor and Bernice Pearl (Huber) Olson.

Marlin worked as a laborer in road construction for many years. He was married to the former Mary Bradford, to which five children were born. He enjoyed fishing for anything that would bite and was edible. He also enjoyed dancing and was known to be a prankster.

He is survived by his children, Ralph Olson of St. Paul, John Olson of Houlton, Mark Olson of St. Cloud, Marcie (Jim) Swanson and Michael Olson of Buffalo; many grandchildren; sisters, Thelma (Leo) Bolt of Mountain Lake, Lilly Rodine of Windom; and his nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Victor and Bernice Pearl (Huber) Olson; former wife, Mary; stillborn daughter, Michelle; siblings, Raymond, Larry, Kenneth “Fuzzy” and Arnoldine.

Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at First Lutheran Church, 463 Maria Ave., St. Paul.

Visitation was Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Burial is in Willow River Cemetery in Hudson. Memorials are preferred.
