A temporary restraining order against a retiring county official's spouse has been extended under an agreement negotiated at a hearing in St. Croix County Circuit Court.

Beth Pabst, who won election for register of deeds, filed the order against Pat Walsh, husband of retiring register of deeds Kay Walsh.

Pabst collected 29,282 votes, and Geri Campbell, who lost to Pabst in the Democratic primary race in September, collected 2,880 write-in votes Nov. 4.

Judge Scott R. Needham extended the temporary restraining order against Pat Walsh to Jan. 5 or until Campbell makes an announcement that she is not contesting the election results or requesting a recount.

Pabst filed the TRO following an Oct. 17 incident at the Government Center. She charged that Pat Walsh had engaged in a course of conduct and repeated acts that harassed and intimidated Pabst and her husband.

The restraining order was served on Walsh Oct. 23 and scheduled for a hearing on Election Day.
