Letter: Don’t give up on library

The defeat of the library proposal is a crushing disappointment. The economy may be the biggest factor in its defeat.

Dear Editor,

The defeat of the library proposal is a crushing disappointment. The economy may be the biggest factor in its defeat.

Having said that, the eventual library will be located in Hudson, so maybe it is unrealistic to expect the towns of Hudson and St. Joseph to enthusiastically support it. If Hudson and North Hudson could go it alone, it might have a better chance of passing. Requiring four communities to sign off on it seems doomed to failure.

Hudson is a well-educated, vibrant and prosperous city. Its continuing growth is a sure sign that the need for a good library has never been greater. Don’t give up. There has to be a way we can do this.
