Christensen earns EMS award

St. Croix EMS & Rescue was honored as the Outstanding EMS Agency for 2008 at the West Central Regional Trauma Advisory Council’s awards meeting in New Richmond Thursday, Nov. 20.

St. Croix EMS & Rescue was honored as the Outstanding EMS Agency for 2008 at the West Central Regional Trauma Advisory Council’s awards meeting in New Richmond Thursday, Nov. 20.

The award honors an agency that has assumed a leadership role in EMS by achievement in the areas of patient care, public access to EMS, disaster preparedness, public access and/or training in Wisconsin. The award also recognizes efforts to assure quality patient care, professionalism and improved response times and services.

Studio One Teleproductions and SCEMS service member Rick Wold received the Partner in EMS Award. Studio One produced a video, hosted by “Emergency” star Randolph Mantooth, highlighting services offered by St. Croix EMS and Rescue.

The EMS Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Chuck Mehls, of New Richmond, for his role in developing and maintaining the present EMS and trauma response structure in western Wisconsin.

WCRTAC Chair Craig Nelson of Baldwin EMS emceed the event, held at the New Richmond American Legion Post.
