Menomonie is no match for Raider sports teams

The Hudson High School girls basketball, wrestling, and boys and girls hockey teams opened Big Rivers Conference play with wins last week.
Meanwhile, the Raider boys basketball and girls gymnasts teams started their 2008-09 seasons with nonconference victories.
The girls hockey team defeated Menomonie 7-1 at Menomonie on Dec. 2. Two nights later, the Raider boys hockey team traveled to Menomonie and came away with a 5-4 win.
The Raider wrestling team beat up on Menomonie 69-3 in a Dec. 4 match at Hudson.
Friday night, it was the Raider girls basketball team’s turn beat Menomonie, winning 61-46 in a game at Hudson.
The Hudson girls are 2-1 overall after defeating Superior 57-38 and losing to the Academy of Holy Angels 74-57 in a Thanksgiving-break tournament at Hudson.
The Raider boys basketball team opened its season with a 63-49 home court win over New Richmond on Dec. 4.
The girls gymnastics team traveled to Red Wing, Minn., on Dec. 4 and came away with a 128-123 victory.
