Letter: Clean those sidewalks

Dear Editor,

I would like to add a reminder for businesses (homeowners too!) that when the snow flies, try to get it cleared in a timely fashion.

Many businesses this time of year get busy and forget to check their sidewalks, parking lots and even the curbs in front of their stores.

Many times when trying to shop, I have come to a store where the curb has a lot of snow built up to it from plows, and it’s totally impossible to get through (especially downtown areas).

Please remember that even when you shovel or plow that it still can be slippery so best to have salt or sand to put down too.

The slush in parking lots and fear of falling have kept me from shopping unless absolutely necessary since I am on crutches. I am sure elderly people, and others, have a hard time walking in some areas.

So get your property safe, please.
