Letter: Appreciates help after fire

Dear Editor,

Words cannot express the feelings of appreciation in my heart as I have been lifted up by so many after the loss of my home to fire the day after Thanksgiving.

What wonderful support I received from God, the many firefighters (who, thankfully, were not injured), my loving family, my church family at First Baptist, as well as the many neighbors, friends and strangers who were there with prayers, hugs and material blessings.

I thank God that my grandson, Josh Phillips, was there, and helped me get out, because I kept insisting we could put out the fire.

May God bless you all, and may he bless our celebration of Jesus’ birthday.
