Learn about virtual school

An information session is scheduled in Hudson from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at the Best Western Hudson House Inn, 1616 Crest View Drive, for families interested in the K-8 online school Wisconsin Connections Academy. WCA is the state’s original tuition-free, virtual public school that enrolls more than 400 students statewide. At the information session, parents will get one-on-one time with teachers and parents of current students, plus the opportunity to view the curriculum and sample lessons.

Students must apply to WCA during the state’s open enrollment period, Feb. 2-20, online or by mail. Applications will be available Jan. 26.

Orchestras perform

Hudson Prairie, E.P. Rock and River Crest elementary orchestras will perform at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at the Hudson High School auditorium. Houlton, North Hudson and Willow River orchestras will perform at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, in the HHS Auditorium.
