Lopez pleads innocent to sex assault

The director of Heartview Inc. of the town of Hudson pleaded innocent to a sexual assault charge at a Dec. 23 arraignment hearing in St. Croix County Circuit Court.

Carolyn A. Lopez, 30, 494 Prairie Lane, Hudson, was ordered to post a $5,000 cash bail on one felony count of second-degree sexual assault.

Defense attorney Michael R. Waterman of Hudson filed a motion to strike portions of the criminal complaint. Judge Howard W. Cameron allowed 14 days for the state to respond and set a motion hearing for Feb. 23.

Lopez is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 56-year-old male resident of the facility on several occasions between April 21 and Sept. 30. Lopez denied having sex with the patient, the criminal complaint said.
