With only incumbents filing candidacy papers for seats on the Hudson City Council, it appears there will be no contest in this year’s spring election April 7.

Randy Morrissette II will be unopposed on the ballot in District 1. Scot O’Malley in District 5 and Alan Burchill in District 6 also have filed for re-election.

School board

There are three seats open on the Hudson Board of Education. All three incumbents are seeking re-election. No challengers filed by the 5 p.m. Tuesday deadline.

The incumbent candidates include:

  • Brian Bell, 848 Prairie Meadow Drive.

  • Thomas Holland, 461 Jensen Lane.

  • Barbara Van Loenen, 1101 Maple Drive.

Van Loenen was elected last spring to complete the last year of the term of former board member Tracy Habisch-Ahlin. A term on the school board is for three years.

For more information about the election, contact the Hudson School District at (715) 377-3702 or visit the district’s Web site at www.hudson.k12.wi.us.
