Gun club hosts programs

The Hudson Rod, Gun and Archery Club is hosting Winter Trap, 5 Stand and Skeet Leagues which began Sunday, Jan. 4; and Youth BB Gun Program beginning Jan. 8.

The Hudson Rod, Gun and Archery Club is hosting Winter Trap, 5 Stand and Skeet Leagues which began Sunday, Jan. 4; and Youth BB Gun Program beginning Jan. 8.

  • Winter Trap, 5 Stand, and Skeet Leagues run Jan. 4-March 29. The first three weeks is open to team registration, and teams are allowed to shoot all three weeks at any time during those first three weeks.

    After the third week, divisions are set if there are enough teams in any event to have more than one division. Sponsor fees for trap teams are $75; skeet teams are $60. Contact Dave Orf at (715) 386-5657 or Bob Snegosky at (715) 386-2648.

  • Youth BB Gun Program: The Junior BB Gun League Program starts Jan. 8 at 6:30 p.m. Ages for the League are 7–15 and the fee is $10. Registration is on the start-up night.

    The eight-week program includes two weeks of instruction and six weeks of competition. The competition is based on average score and there are several divisions so inexperienced shooters are not competing with experienced shooters. The club supplies the BB guns and BBs; competitors do not need to bring anything. Coordinators are Jane George, (715) 386-8159, and Bill Shirley, (715) 386-2437.
