Kendall Lewis “Kenny” Dow, 59, of Hudson, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis.
Kenny was born the son of Lewis and Mabel (Watnos) Dow on April 18, 1949, in Appleton. As a child, Kenny moved with his family to Milwaukee, where he attended and graduated high school.
Kenny went on to serve in the U.S. Navy.
In his younger days, Kenny was the lead singer for several bands in the Milwaukee area. One of his bands was chosen to play at the Milwaukee Summerfest.
For several years, he had a house boat on the St. Croix River which led him to refer to himself as “river rat” and later as an “ex-pirate.” His sense of humor was infectious, and he was always a great joke teller.
Kenny’s latest work was as a caregiver where he made two exceptional friends, Ramsey Lee and Mae Richie. Kenny loved to travel to new places and always enjoyed meeting new people.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Dow; mother, Mable Krueger; stepfather, Herbert Krueger; and brother-in-law, J. William Dawicke.
He is survived by daughters, Jessica Lynn Kronberg and Jacqueline Marie Wollmering; grandchildren, Acacia Kendall-Christi Dow and Adam Clinton-Hunter Dow; his “forever fiancée,” Susan Prust, and her family; sister, Susan Dawicke of Milwaukee; extended family; as well as dear friends and canine friends.
A special thank you to Paula Kellogg, his kidney transplant donor, and to Dawn and Tom at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis.
A memorial service for Kenny will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
