Carolyn Streed of Dragonfly Spirit Studio is teaching Quick Start to Success with Watercolors, a four-week class, on Wednesdays, Jan. 28-Feb. 18, from 9 a.m. to noon at The Phipps Center for the Arts.
Streed said participants will focus on gaining an understanding of the inherent behavior of watercolor through practicing a variety of special watercolor techniques. Streed began painting four years ago and has quickly achieved success as a professional artist. She was a student of Lynne Baur for two years before joining her as an instructor at The Phipps. Having started painting so recently, Streed says she understands the challenges of taking up the medium as an adult and will help participants overcome their fears.
The class fee is $130; participants should request a suggested materials list when enrolling. To enroll, send the fee to The Phipps Center for the Arts, 109 Locust St., Hudson WI 54016, call (715) 386-2305 to register with Visa or MasterCard, or visit www.ThePhipps.org.
