Walmart Teacher of the Year

Jim Margenau, science teacher at St. Patrick School, was named a Walmart Teacher of the Year. Margenau has been a teacher for 28 years, 18 of them at St. Patrick School in Hudson.

Outside of school he enjoys gardening, hunting and fishing. The fish he has caught or the ducks he has shot often wind up in his science classroom.

Margenau is also interested in music. He has written and directed plays at the school.

“This multifaceted teacher thinks that working with students who want to learn is the very best part of teaching,” said St. Patrick Principal Mary Piasecki. “Although he was surprised by the award, the many students whose lives he had enriched over the years were not.”
