The Phipps Children’s Theater is presenting a musical adaptation of “Charlotte’s Web” Feb. 13-March 1 by area high school students.
Hudson High School graduate Tiffany Fier, who played Charlotte in The Phipps production in 1999, is returning as the scenic designer for this show. Fier is the resident set designer for the Alley Stage in Mineral Point and has worked as the props artisan for American Players Theatre in Spring Green.
John H. Potter, who staged the children’s theater production 10 years ago, returns to direct the 24 students. Musical director Randi Rexroth, choreographer Jocelyn Gorham, costume designer Linda Adorn and sound designer Tom Dahle complete the production team.
This adaptation is by the award-winning playwright Joseph Robinette, with music and lyrics by Charles Strouse, the composer of “Annie” and “Bye, ‘Bye, Birdie.”
“Charlotte’s Web” runs for 12 performances Feb. 13-March 1 on Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for students age 13 and older as well as seniors, and $15 for children 4 to 12 years old, with a $2 discount for the opening weekend. This show is not recommended for children under age 4.
