LouAnne Reger of J&L Steel & Electrical Services and Brian Zeller of Ban Tara Companies & Greystone Real Estate Group have joined the board of directors of the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau for 2009.
They will join current Chamber board members Chair Rick Holloway (All Info Storage), Chair-elect Randy Penkwitz (Investment Centers of America), Past Chair Gene Haberman (Citizens State Bank), Treasurer Rob Knefelkamp (San Pedro Café), Mary Bowen-Eggebraaten (Hudson School District), Shelli Erck (Hudson Flower Shop), Rich Lau (Redmon Law Chartered), Angela Popenhagen (Stevens Engineers) and Carla Timmerman (Best Western/Hudson House Inn).
New member LouAnne Reger is the founder and chief executive officer of J&L Steel and Electrical Services in Hudson. J&L Steel Erectors has been installing steel for highway and commercial construction projects for over 30 years.
Most recently, J&L installed the reinforcing steel and post tension materials for the new I-35W bridge in Minneapolis. Reger has grown J&L Steel Erectors to $18 million in revenue and 55 employees. To build on that success, Reger launched two new businesses in 2008: the Ascent Companies, a real estate and contracting group, and also an electrical contracting division of J&L.
Reger is a two-time past president and founding member of the Association of Women Contractors and the second woman ever to serve on the board of the Association of General Contractors. She has also served on the Mankato State University Construction Management Advisory Board, University of Minnesota Construction Management Advisory Board and the College of St. Catherine’s Entrepreneurial Roundtable.
Reger has been recognized by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal as one of the top 25 women-owned businesses in Minnesota. She is the recipient of the Women Business Owner of the Year award in 2005 from the National Association of Women Business Owners. She also hosted a Town Hall meeting for John McCain’s presidential campaign during the fall of 2008.
New member Brian Zeller is the managing partner and broker of Greystone Commercial, headquartered in Bayport. He has over 18 years of experience in leadership, management, sales, leasing and development. Zeller is also a developing partner in the Ban Tara Retail project in Hudson. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. He completed and received his CCIM accreditation in 2004.
Zeller has served as the mayor of the city of Lakeland since 2006. He has also served as the chair of the Washington County Library Board. He was born and raised in the St. Croix River Valley. Zeller and his wife, Sarah, live in Lakeland with their son Ben.
