VILLAGE OF NORTH HUDSON: NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 3/3/09Re: Proposed Floodplain Ordinance, Flood Insurance Study and Flood Insurance Rate Map revisions
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Village Board of North Hudson, St. Croix County, Wisconsin will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday March 3, 2009, at the Village Hall, 400 Seventh Street N. to solicit comments on the proposed Floodplain Ordinance, Flood Insurance Study and Flood Insurance Rate Map revisions of Chapter 42 Floodplain Zoning, of the Municipal Code of the Village of North Hudson that are required by state and federal law. These revisions govern development in mapped floodplain areas.
The purpose of the hearing is to solicit comments on revisions to the Floodplain Ordinance, Flood Insurance Study and Flood Insurance Rate Maps amending the existing ordinance (Chapter 42 Floodplain Zoning, Section 42-7, Section 42-8, Section 42-151 (2) (d) and (e) 1 98-151 of the Municipal Code) and bring it into conformance with federal and state regulations.
The proposed regulations are intended to protect life, health and property in floodplain areas and will govern uses permitted in mapped floodplains. Activities such as dredging, filling, excavating and construction of buildings are generally allowed, but may be restricted according to which flood zone the property is in.
A copy of the proposed ordinance will be on file at the Village Hall, Clerk’s office, 400 Seventh Street N., and available for public inspection for a period of two weeks prior to the public hearing.
