An early morning fire Monday did heavy damage to a home at 705 Crosby Dr. in the town of Hudson. The home is owned by Trisha and Dustin Danielson.

The Hudson Fire Department was assisted by fire fighters from Lower St. Croix Valley and Roberts/Warren. The River Falls Fire Department was on standby at the Hudson Fire station. The first call came at 2:50 a.m. Monday.

Hudson Fire Chief Jim Frye said the blaze appeared to start in the entry area of the home on the south side of the structure. There were people at home when the fire began and they were able to escape without injury.

Frye said there was fire, smoke and water damage, but that the structure is salvageable.
