REQUEST FOR BIDS: ST. CROIX COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECT

The County of St. Croix, 1101 Carmichael Road, Hudson Wisconsin, will receive sealed bids for:
ST. CROIX COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECT
Until 1:00 P.M., Thursday, March 12, 2009, at the St. Croix County Government Center, 1101 Carmichael Road, Hudson Wisconsin 54016, room 1400, at which time and place all bids will be opened and read aloud. Envelopes containing bids must be sealed, marked (“BID, ST. CROIX COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECT”) with the name and address of the bidder and the date and hour of the opening and addressed to the County Clerk. Bidders are invited to attend. Bids received after 1:00 P.M. will be returned unopened.
A pre-bid meeting will be held at The St. Croix County Government Center on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. Attendance at the pre bid meeting is mandatory for all prospective bidders. A bid received from a bidder that did not attend the pre bid meeting shall be returned unopened. Bids shall be made upon bid forms provided by St. Croix County. No oral, electronic or telephonic proposals or modifications will be considered.
The complete bid form shall be submitted without alterations, additions, or erasures. All bids must be on a lump sum basis. St. Croix County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to award the contract by sections, to waive formalities, and to reject nonconforming, non-responsive or conditional bids.
Bidding documents, including the Bid Form, Drawings and Specifications, will be on file at the office of the project engineer, Roof Spec, Inc., 2400 Prior Avenue N, St. Paul, MN 55113, phone #651-639-0644.
The project includes: Re-roofing of Roof Areas A, B, C, and D.
The Engineer will have complete sets of the Bidding Documents available for pick up by prospective bidders and subcontractors at no charge. The following information must accompany the request: Company name, mailing address, street address, phone, and facsimile numbers. Complete sets of bidding documents will be available at the pre bid meeting.
Each bidder must submit with their bid a Cashier’s Check, Bid Bond, or Certified Check equal to 5% of the total amount of the Bid payable to St. Croix County as a guarantee of prompt execution of the contract in accordance with the Proposal and Contract Documents.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory Labor and Material Payment Bond, and a Performance Bond.
The Contractor and their employees performing the Work must have successfully completed a minimum of (5) projects similar in nature, scope and size (the total cost of each of the five (5) previous projects shall be within ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid submitted for this project.) Contractors shall provide evidence of experience and previous project name, date, nature, scope and size with the bid form.
Bids may not be withdrawn within Thirty (30) days after the scheduled time of opening bids without the consent of St. Croix County.
