Dorothea Sauntry, 84

Dorothea E. Sauntry, 84, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at the Barton House care center in Scottsdale, Ariz. She was born Dec. 25, 1924, in Fairfax, S.D., to Fred and Cecelia Suedbeck. Dorothea loved sewing, bridge, golf and gatherings with her friends and family.

Dorothea E. Sauntry, 84, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at the Barton House care center in Scottsdale, Ariz.

She was born Dec. 25, 1924, in Fairfax, S.D., to Fred and Cecelia Suedbeck.

Dorothea loved sewing, bridge, golf and gatherings with her friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and loving husband, Dr. Peter J. (Jerry) Sauntry.

Jerry and Dot resided in Hudson, Wis., from 1950 to 1975.

Survivors are sons, Thomas F. Sauntry of Fort Mill, S.C., and Kevin P. Sauntry of Alpharetta, Ga.; daughters, Jerrine P. Sauntry of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Lorena C. Marchant of Lakeside, Ariz.; grandchildren, Jeffery Sauntry, Sean Sauntry, Micah Sauntry, William Sauntry, Meredith Moreno, Meaghann Sauntry, Alex Marchant and Benjamin Marchant; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church of Phoenix, Ariz.
