Boosters schedule competitive girl softball tryouts/clinics

Tryouts for the Hudson Boosters; summer girls competitive softball program are scheduled for the following dates:

Tryouts for the Hudson Boosters; summer girls competitive softball program are scheduled:

  • Saturday, March 21, at the Knowles Center, UW-River Falls for: 10U girls, 8:30-10 a.m.; 12U girls, 10 a.m.-noon.

  • Saturday, April 4, at the Knowles Center, UW-River Falls for: 14U girls, 8:30-10 a.m.

  • Sunday, April 5, at Willow River Elementary: 16U girls, 4-6 p.m.; 18U girls, 4-6 p.m.

    For the 16U and 18U competitive softball players, note the changes for the date, time and location to accommodate college exams.

    Girls should arrive 30 minutes prior to the times listed for registration and warm-ups.

    The cost of for the competitive softball program is $225, plus a non-refundable tryout fee of $25 for a total of $250. For financial assistance, contact Booster President Jim Londo at (715) 386-9280 or jlondo1@yahoo.com.

    Ongoing clinics

    The remaining softball pre-season Sunday softball clinics/open gymnasiums at Willow River Elementary and St. Patrick’s Schools are at the following dates and times: March 15, 22 and 29.

    The time slots at Willow River for hitting, fielding and base running are: 9-10-year-olds, 4-5:30 p.m.; 11-12-year-olds, 5:30-7 p.m.; 13-18-year-olds, 7-8 p.m.

    The time slots at St. Patrick’s school for pitching and catching are: 11-12-year-old pitchers and catchers, 4:15-5:15 p.m.; 9-10-year-old pitchers and catchers, 5:45-6:45 p.m.; 13-18-year-old pitchers and catchers, 5:45-6:45 p.m.

    Ex-University of Minnesota pitching coach Jennifer Burke will be at the Sunday, March 15, clinic at St. Patrick’s beginning at 4:15 p.m.
