A local play-reading group has been meeting quietly once a month for over 40 years, usually at a member’s home and sometime in costume.

Then, as narrator Warren Pagel explained to a recent audience, the group reads a play, usually a one-act.

A quick read-through rehearsal takes place just prior to the real thing. Since the group has been doing this for so long there may be repeat performances of the same play.

The members come and go so most don’t notice that the group may have done the same play five years ago. On Friday, a few of the members performed a spoof in the Robin Hood saga for Young at Heart, the seniors group at Bethel Lutheran Church.
