The Education Foundation of Hudson reminds the public that Star-Excellence Award nominations are due April 1.

The award is designed to recognize teachers or staff members who have demonstrated an unusual commitment to inspire students to reach for difficult and lofty goals. Persons recognized have earned the respect of students, parents and peers through sustained effort, high moral standards and the likelihood of enduring beneficial effects on the students with whom they have worked.

Any current or former full-time or part-time employee of a not-for-profit school within the Hudson School District is eligible for nomination. The nomination form must be submitted by someone who has had a direct experience with the nominee.

Winners of the Star Excellence Award are recognized at the Hudson High School Academic Awards ceremony each spring and receive a $3,000 cash award and a handmade, engraved vase.

Star Excellence Award forms are available at all individual school offices, the Hudson School District Administrative office and on the foundation Web site at www.educationfoundationofhudson.org.
