Jazz groups take to stage Tuesday

The Hudson Middle and High School band departments are presenting an “Evening of Jazz” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, in the middle school multipurpose room.

Featured in the concert are the Seventh Grade Jazz Ensemble playing “Tyrannosaurus Charlie,” “Power Trip” and “Hog’s Breath Café.”

The Eighth Grade Jazz Ensemble will perform “Fat Burger,” “Work Song” and “Rock the World.”

The high school “Mingus Band” will perform “Sad Song for Amanda” and “The “R and A” Blues.”

The high school “Gilespie Band” will play “Rocking with Nick” and “Lament for Jennifer.”

Concluding the program will be the High School Jazz Ensemble playing “I Wish I Could Get Back To You,” “Yakkity Sax” and “Aneeda Reed Swing.”

Directors for the program are Connie Root, Carl Meincke, Aaron Hilden and Ryan McCarthy.
