Since 1990, officials say the clinics have treated more than 90,000 patients without surgery or drugs. During the program, physicians and rehabilitation staff work with doctors to provide exercise-based care that can succeed even if other treatments have failed.
“We are excited to offer physician-supported alternatives to surgery,” said Sean Flood, MD, MPH, and lead physician for the new western Wisconsin clinic. “In fact, our research shows an average of 16 months after completing PNBC rehab, 35 out of 38 patients previously recommended for spinal surgery were able to avoid it by first undergoing an aggressive program on their neck or low back.”
PNBC of Western Wisconsin is an affiliate of Western Wisconsin Medical Associates, an independent, physician-owned medical group with a history of family medicine practices. WWMA is composed of Hudson Physicians, New Richmond Clinic and the River Falls, Ellsworth and Spring Valley Medical Clinics, and staffs more than 50 medical providers.
