AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE FOR THE VILLAGE OF NORTH HUDSON, WISCONSIN - Chapter 14: Buildings and Building Regulations
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE FOR THE VILLAGE OF NORTH HUDSON, WISCONSIN
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of North Hudson wish to amend Chapter 14 Buildings and Building Regulations, Section 14-2 and Section 14-52 (b) (1) and (2) of the Village of North Hudson Municipal Code. (Deleted language is struck through, amended language is underlined.)
NOW THEREFORE, the Board of Trustees of the Village of North Hudson do ordain as follows:
Sec. 14-2. Definitions; of the Village of North Hudson’s Municipal Code is amended to read:
Calculated Financial Value (CFV) means the cumulative value of calculations the Building Inspector creates or establishes based on multiplying the components square footage by the fee in 62-3.
Project Cost means the amount determined by either the builder’s actual estimated costs (for labor and materials) or the cost of materials multiplied by two (2) (which assumes the property owner is doing the work) whichever is appropriate.
Sec. 14-52. Permits generally (b) Exceptions (1) and (2); of the Village of North Hudson’s Municipal Code is amended to read:
(1) Repair or replacement of building components for purposes of maintenance and/or improvement not resulting in structural alteration of the building and valued at less than $5,000.00 does not require a building permit.
(1) Repairs, replacements, or alterations costing less than $5,000 and which do not change occupancy rate, structural strength, fire protection, exits, natural light, or ventilation, do not require a building permit. Certain replacement type work does not require a permit at any time when there are no structural changes associated with the work, regardless of actual cost. The exemptions include the following: replacement of siding, reroofing/shingles, windows, ingress/egress doors in a house or garage, overhead or hinged garage doors, counter tops/ vanity tops, existing sinks(s) or toilet(s), and kitchen or bathroom cabinetry where the new cabinetry uses the same wall or floor space/dimensions as those being replaced.
(2) No building permit shall be required for the construction of an accessory building not more than 100 120 square feet in area nor more than eight feet in height and not having a masonry floor, electricity, plumbing, or heating. See chapter 98 for setback requirements.
Adopted by the Village Board this 31st day of March, 2009.
