Hudson wrestlers eliminated from state team tournament by Lincoln

MADISON - The Hudson High School wrestling team actually had a lead against No. 1 ranked Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln. But the lead was short as Rapids came back to win 62-10 in the WIAA State Team Wrestling Tournament Saturday morning at the UW Fieldhouse.
Hudson won the first two matches of the Division 1 semifinal as Nick Nelson pinned Eddie Van Valen in 5:51 at 112 and Gordon Johnson major decisioned Joshua Minch 18-5. The Raiders had a 10-0 lead.
Rapids won the next 12 matches in a row. Hudson's lead lasted until 130 when Rapids' Keegan Einerson won pinfall. Lincoln, 26-1 overall, recorded six pins and two technical falls. The closest losses for Hudson were tanner Owens falling 6-3 at 140 to Rylan Lubeck and Nick Larson falling in double overtime 3-2 to Garrett Schilling.
Hudson's overall record for the 2010-11 season was 12-5 overall.
