Octagon House prepares for summer
As the May 1st Octagon House Museum opening approaches, volunteers are preparing the house for the 2009 theme “Victorian Frugalities,” how the Victorians saved their pennies in times of recession.
As the May 1st Octagon House Museum opening approaches, volunteers are preparing the house for the 2009 theme “Victorian Frugalities,” how the Victorians saved their pennies in times of recession.
The St. Croix County Historical Society (SCCHS) has also updated its website with the new 2009 calendar.
SCCHS has also announced that plans are under way for the return of the Theater in the Garden. The St. Croix Classics Theater Group returns with “Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime” a comedy by Constance Cox, on July 31 and Aug 1-2.
On Aug. 23, the First Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Company F, a Hudson area Civil War re-enactor group, will hold an exhibit on the lawn of the Octagon House.
