Dear Editor,
So last week we had Hudson School Board member Mark Kaisersatt responding to Mr. Shaw in these very pages. I am reminded by the old story that it sometimes is better to appear ignorant by not saying anything than it is by opening your mouth and removing all doubt.
Looks like Mr. Kaisersatt never learned that lesson. Maybe it was the highly paid media consultant the district rewards with over $80,000 a year for a part time gig who penned the reply.
The crux of the disagreement really lies in Mr. Kaisersatt’s belief that someone would dare be offended by his ideology that thinks that government knows better what to do with citizens private property. He believes that individuals do not have any inherit rights to keep the fruits of their labor. He believes government should redistribute it, in this case, to the teachers union. Mr. Kaisersatt has been on the side of the takers most of his career and has been the benefactor of government jobs. Do you really think he has ever had an objective view of taxes or fiscal responsibility in his life?
Why do we as taxpayers have a government paid employee acting as a supposedly objective negotiator to a strong government union to begin with? This is quid pro quo at its best.
The answer to the questions is straightforward. Without the takers ability to forcibly take the wealth of others through the political process, many would be relegated to a lifestyle reflective of their talents, intellect and motivation. For a majority I dare say, such a change would mean living with less.
Tu ne cede malis sed contra audentior ito.
Do not give in to evil but proceed ever more boldly against it.
