Register Saturday for summer swimming
Registration for the Hudson School District’s American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program and Lifeguard training is this Saturday, May 2, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hudson Middle School gym.
Registration for the Hudson School District’s American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program and Lifeguard training is this Saturday, May 2, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hudson Middle School gym (enter school through north doors, which will not open until 7 a.m. due to changes in registration procedures).
Swimming lessons are open to children who have completed kindergarten and are currently enrolled in Hudson schools. Fees are $20 per student, per two-week session. All classes are registered on a first-come, first serve basis, and after classes are filled, registration will be closed.
There is also a class “Waders” for children ages 3-5 who have not yet entered kindergarten. A parent must accompany the child in the water for this class. The cost for this class is $30 per student per session.
The fee for Lifeguard training is $125. The training is June 15-26. To be eligible, the student must be at least 15 by June 15. Proof of age is required at registration.
The Water Safety Instructor training is from June 29-July 10 from 2-4 p.m., and the cost is $175. To be eligible for water safety training, a student must be at least 16 years old by the date of the first class and be able to swim 500 yards continually using the front crawl and to perform all strokes.
Registration on Saturday, May 2, is open ONLY to Hudson School District residents. You must provide either a Hudson School District student school report card or a picture ID for proof of residency.
Hudson School District residents who are unable to register May 2 may register beginning Monday, May 11, at the Learning Services Office, 644 Brakke Drive, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. In order to expedite the registration process, please fill out the blue registration form that you received on Feb. 26, and bring it with you.
If you are not a resident of the Hudson School District, you may register for any open classes beginning Monday, May 11 from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the above location.
