Sign up for Monica Jensen run May 30

Runners, walkers and joggers are invited to participate in the third annual Monica Jensen Foundation 5K walk/run and 10K run at Lakefront Park Saturday, May 30.

Registration begins at 6:50 a.m. Preregistration is encouraged at www.themonicajensenfoundation.org. The 5K race begins at 8 a.m. and the 10K at 8:10. Shuttle buses will transport participants from Lakefront Park to the starting point, Hudson High School – arrive by 7:30 to allow time to be shuttled.

An awards ceremony at Lakefront Park will follow the race. Children are invited to participate in a half-mile fun run at the park at 10 a.m.

Monica Jensen was a New Richmond High School track athlete. The Hudson resident died two years ago from melanoma at the age of 33. Money raised from the race will provide two $1,000 scholarships to female runners graduating from New Richmond and Hudson High Schools. Proceeds will also go toward melanoma research.
