Letter: Appreciated bank service

Dear Editor,

In this time of stories of bad bankers, let me offer a story of the reverse. Recently my husband I wanted to take advantage of the lower rates to remortgage our home at our bank. Because of a recent change in employment, we did not fit the computer protocols though our credit rating was high and payment history without problems.

Our banker at Associated Bank looked beyond the box and narrow computer definitions and argued successfully that not only were we not a credit risk but rather a positive player.

Our local bank proved that people and service matter, and we want to applaud the above-the-norm actions and suggest that more bankers follow this inspiring model.
