That's after he placed 10th over the weekend in the Southern 500 in Darlington S.C.
Kenseth won the pole for that race with a track qualifying record.
Paul Menard of Eau Claire remains 33rd in the point totals, after he placed 15th on Saturday.
In the Nationwide Series, Kenseth rose five spots in the point standings to 19th. That's after he won the Diamond Hill Plywood 200 Friday at Darlington.
It was Kenseth's first victory of the year in NASCAR's No. 2 circuit, and his fifth Top 10 finish.
Wausau native Scott Wimmer rose one place for the year to 27th, after taking 10th at Darlington.
Travis Kittleson of Madison placed 38th in his first Nationwide event of the season. It put him 80th in the point standings.
