Park fight lands teen in hospital

A fight involving more than a dozen young men in Prospect Park on Saturday resulted in one of the fighters ending up at Regions Hospital and six others facing charges.

A fight involving more than a dozen young men in Prospect Park on Saturday resulted in one of the fighters ending up at Regions Hospital and six others facing charges.

Hudson police were called to the park on Wisconsin Street around 5 p.m. According to Police Chief Marty Jensen, some in the group were using baseball bats. The injured man was hit in the head and the elbow. He was transported first to Hudson Hospital but was later transferred to Regions in St. Paul for treatment. Police have not released his name, and his condition is unknown.

Among those charged with disorderly conduct involving physical violence in connection with the fight were:

  • Corey Hanson, 18, 1400 Namekagon St.

  • Christopher M. Kammery, 17, River Falls.

  • Charles Akey, 18, 1904 Stonepine Bay.

  • Nicholas Austin, 17, Hammond.

  • Trevor Brown, 18, River Falls.

  • Maximillian Maher, 17, River Falls.

    All were ordered to make mandatory court appearances next month. The case has been referred to the

    St. Croix County District Attorney’s office for review.
