Dear Editor,
Whatever happened to “caring” about the kids and the teachers?
As a taxpayer, I would like to know why the School Board is so afraid to stand up to the superintendant of schools and make her accountable for all the money she seems to be spending and all the extra people she hired.
Before it is too late, the School Board needs to call a special (CLOSED) meeting with just the teachers and hear what they have to say and keep the (lady-at-the-top) away. I don’t think the School Board is fully aware of what it is going on in the classroom and with the teachers.
The superintendant keeps them in the dark and will not allow them to speak at meetings. It is obvious the superintendant isn’t interested in what’s good for the students and teachers; only what’s best for her and to keep her pocketbook safe. I haven’t seen one thing in writing that she is cutting her salary or getting rid of the extra people she hired so there is more money for educating the kids and helping the teachers.
Maybe someone made a bad choice in hiring her in the first place.
Remember, taxpayers, who it is teaching our children! Get hold of the School Board members and remind them it is the teachers that are helping our kids (and theirs) prepare for their futures. They don’t just put in the hours our kids are in the classroom, but they take work home to prepare and even give up part of their weekends working for our kids.
So I as a taxpayer am challenging the School Board – step up, take charge and do what you were elected to do. Remember, the superintendant answers to you if you have enough guts to go up against her and her policies.
In this economy our kids and teachers need our help, and you can make it happen.
