Hudson will have representatives in 12 individual events and four relays at the WIAA State Track and Field Championships June 5-6 in La Crosse.
The Raider girls will be sending five individuals and two relay teams while the boys qualified six individuals and a pair of relay teams.
Hardisha White will compete in both the girls’ long jump and triple jump after qualifying in both events at Friday’s sectional meet in Wausau. White took first in the triple jump with a distance of 34-feet, 9-5 inches and third in the long jump with 16-4.5.
Alicia Bower finished second in the discus with a throw of 130-feet to qualify for the state meet, while Jamie Lindstrom advanced by taking third in the shot put with a toss of 38-5.5.
Danni Krinke, Angela Tipp, Erika Tipp and Rachael Saathoff won the 4 X 100 meter relay sectional title with a time of 49.77 seconds and took third in the 4 X 200 meter relay in 1:46.26 to move on in both events.
Saathoff also qualified for the state meet in the 100 meter dash with a third place time of 12.74 seconds and Angela Tipp qualified in the 200 meter dash by finishing third in 26.5 seconds.
On the boys’ side, Mike Ludgatis won a sectional title in the discus with a toss of 158-02, and Dan Schloesser, Jacob Ball, Nicholas Schumacher and Luke Wusterbarth teamed up to win a sectional title in the 4 X 800 meter relay with a time of 8:16.82.
Schumacher also advanced in the 800 meter run with a second place time of 2:01.52, and Ball moved on in the 3200 meter run by placing second in 9:51.92, while Wusterbarth qualified in the 1600 meter run with a third place time of 4:37.33. Mathew Rudquist also advanced in the 3200 meter run with a third place time of 9:52.1.
Brody Swenson took second in the high jump with a leap of 6-4 and Mitch Patrick placed third in the pole vault by clearing13-3 to both earn spots at state while the boys’ 4 X 200 meter relay team of Tucker Malecha, Mike Meyer, Mark Tully and Tyler Smith qualified with a third place time of 1:32.17.
The top three finishers in each event at Friday’s sectional qualified for the state meet. In addition, individuals and relay teams whose performances rank among the eight best of all sectional performances also qualify, so it’s possible more Raiders may be added to the field over the weekend.
