The Master Gardeners is an association of horticulture enthusiasts who have completed a Master Gardening course offered by the University of Wisconsin Extension program. Their monthly meetings feature guest speakers on a variety of gardening topics. Members volunteer to care for gardens at nursing homes, schools, parks and public buildings. The proceeds from Saturday’s plant sale help provide funding for grants that are awarded to community organizations for landscaping or gardening projects.
The Octagon House Museum is open for walk-in tours Wednesdays through Saturdays from noon to 4:30 p.m., and Sundays from 2 to 4:30 p.m. For more information on the Octagon House, go to www.pressenter.com/~octagon.
