Brothers Eric and Dave Tostrud are organizing a Hudson Fitness Day that will take place in Lakefront Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 20.

The event will feature the Tostrud brothers and friends leading a series of workouts offered on DVD by the Beachbody company.

The schedule includes yoga session at 10 a.m., a Kids Fit Club workout at 11 a.m., a Turbo Jam dance workout at noon, P90X strength training at 1 p.m. and the new Insanity cardio workout at 2 p.m.

“Our goal with Fitness Day is to help the community in any way we can to live a healthier, more active, and thus happier life,” said Eric Tostrud, a bank loan officer by day and certified personal trainer on his own time.

“There’s a lot of different options out there for them that are inexpensive. They don’t have to buy a lot of expensive equipment,” Tostrud said.

The Fitness Day will highlight workouts seen on Beachbody TV infomercials.

“We’re using the band shell and people can come down and participate in them,” Tostrud said.

The Tostrud brothers are both Beachbody coaches. They’ll have a sampling of DVD workouts available for purchase.

They’re also offering a Hudson Fitness Day challenge to up to 25 people to complete three of the 30- to 40-minutes workouts in succession: the Turbo Jam, P90X strength training and Insanity.

Those who complete the challenge will receive a complimentary T-shirt and certificate. Persons interested in participating in the challenge should send an e-mail to Eric at Eric@victory4you.com or phone Dave at (715) 381-6790.

Insanity is an aptly named workout, according to Eric.

“I’ve been doing it every other day for three weeks and I still can’t keep up,” he said.

Some Hudson businesses will have booths at the event. Family Fresh Market will offer nutritional information, Pathways Chiropractic will answer questions about the body, and Barker’s Bar & Grill will provide beverages.

“I’m still lining up the sponsors,” said Eric Tostrud, noting that he’d like the event to have a bit of a “health fair atmosphere.”
