The 11th annual Artful Garden Tour, sponsored by the Hudson Women’s Club, is Saturday and Sunday, June 27 and 28. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday hours are 1 to 4 p.m.
Each year the official tour poster, a watercolor painting by a local artist, commemorates the occasion. This year the painting is “Peony in Bloom,” by watercolor artist Randy Schwark. Prints will be available for sale at the Octagon House on the days of the tour. Prints from some of the previous years will also be available for collectors.
In some of the gardens, artists will be displaying and demonstrating their works. Tour-goers can enjoy the art while surveying the gardens.
The tour began as a tool to raise funds to place hanging flower baskets on Second Street in Hudson. It has now become a tradition for many garden lovers on the last weekend in June.
This year’s tour consists of eight gardens in Hudson and River Falls. Tour-goers will see sun and shade flower gardens, vegetable gardens, gardens with rock walls and waterfalls, a cottage garden and more.
Tours will begin at the Octagon House. Tickets are available at the Octagon House, 1004 Third St., the days of the tour and in River Falls, Lighthouse Coffee and Global MADE. For more information about the tour, call (715) 386-7787.
