Adoray honors volunteers

Nearly 180 Adoray volunteers and staff attended the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner recently at Kilkarney Hills Golf Club in River Falls.

Adoray Home Health and Hospice, Baldwin, sponsored the event, which honors the organization’s nearly 300 volunteers.

Adoray volunteers visit hospice patients, assist with office work and help with day-to-day operations of Treasures from the Heart thrift stores in Baldwin and River Falls; store profits benefit Adoray.

Medicare federally mandates that a minimum of 5 percent of all hospice patient care hours be provided by trained volunteers. “Hospice volunteers play an indispensable role in enabling Adoray to offer the best care possible to people in our communities. We constantly exceed the mandated 5 percent by a significant amount,” said Mary Troftgruben, Adoray executive director.

Adoray is a not-for-profit program of St. Croix Valley Shared Services Inc., owned by Baldwin Area Medical Center, Hudson Hospital and Clinics, River Falls Area Hospital and Westfields Hospital, New Richmond.
