State park offers fishing contest Saturday
The St. Croix Sportsman’s Alliance and the Willow River OWLs will hold their annual kids fishing contest from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, July 18, at Willow River State Park, 1034 County A. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.
The St. Croix Sportsman’s Alliance and the Willow River OWLs will hold their annual kids fishing contest from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, July 18, at Willow River State Park, 1034 County A. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.
The contest runs from:
--9-9:45 for children 6 and under;
--10-10:45 for 7-9-year-olds; and
--11-11:45 for youth ages 10-12.
Prizes are awarded for the most fish, the smallest fish and the largest fish. Cost is $1 per child.

Skull and bone event
Mike Reiter will talk about skulls and bones at 7 p.m. July 18 at the park, explaining what can be learned from animal’s bones. Reiter will have skulls and bones on display.
