Cocker Spaniel Resources Inc. helps cocker spaniels, King Charles cavaliers and other spaniels in need of rescue, rehabilitation, re-homing or permanent foster care.
The Petco Foundation non-profit has raised more than $49 million since its inception in 1999 to help promote and improve the welfare of companion animals.
The Stillwater Petco store selected Cocker Spaniel Resources to receive the donations collected to be used for pet supplies and other equipment. “We use many supplies each month for our dogs,” said Dawn Fleming, board member for Cocker Spaniel Resources. “We are always in need of items like leashes, collars, hand sanitizer, paper toweling and crate cleaner. This money will be used to purchase other items like dog pheromone collars, which calm frightened dogs, potty pads along with other house-training supplies.”
Cocker Spaniel Resources holds adoption events the second and fourth Saturdays of every month at the Stillwater Petco from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cocker Spaniel Resources serves Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa, taking in homeless spaniels and finding new homes for them. The organization was incorporated in July 2006 and has served 228 dogs. For more information, go to www.cockerspanielresources.org.
