Brett Favre is apparently having second thoughts about playing at Minnesota.

ESPN says the former Green Bay quarterback is seriously thinking about staying retired but he’s torn because of a strong effort by some of the Viking players to get him to join.

That’s said to include Adrian Peterson, Steve Hutchinson and Jared Allen.

Favre was expected to decide by today if he’ll un-retire for a second time, but there are reports he’ll delay the announcement.

Minnesota opens its training camp next Thursday, and coach Brad Childress says he has no idea what Favre, 39, will do.

He’s got Sage Rosenfels and Tavaris Jackson as his quarterbacks at the moment, and Childress says he’ll have a good team either way.

Money does not appear to be an issue, despite earlier reports.

ESPN says Favre and the Vikes have talked about a one-year deal worth $10-million.

Vikings’ corner Antoine Winfield signed a four-year contract extension Thursday worth $36 million.

He says he might call Favre to try and get him to play.
